What would you like to see in a new HK pistol?

Who knows how many years it will be before HK releases a new design but what would you like to see?

I'd like a P2000 sized frame with a slightly longer barrel, the P30 grip design, the removal of the right slide lock lever, and a smaller left side lever. Also, non-sloping rear sights (though that is easy to fix with aftermarket).

Striker fired

A grip that is more like the PPQ or P30

A trigger like the PPQ

Lose that funky mag release and give us a damn button like everything else.

A price closer to Glock and others...for those of us that have a mortgage and kids to feed and cannot blow every dime we make on guns.

...do that and they'll rule the polymer pistol world.

An HK version of the G19, striker-fired, simple, with no extraneous parts, no larger and no wider than a G19, and with a barrel length of 106mm.

I find my P2K 357 LEM V1 light to be something
Glock guys might appreciate.

The LEM V1 Light has a very light pre-travel,
followed by a predictable wall and a crisp clean ~5 lbs break.
Very much like my G27 with a OEM "-" connector.
The LEM gives the same pull every time (if the primer fires).
It's very close to a G19 in size.
And with an extended mag release,
I have actually warmed up to the Euro mag release design.

They are worth a look.
And the prices seem to be coming down due to the newer P30.
I picked mine up for $649.

At close range I'm finding her reasonably accurate too!

They cost more because they are made better. Detractors can say what they want otherwise but it doesn't make it any less true.

Don't like the price? Then spend your money elsewhere since these gun's aren't for you.

There are those of us that will gladly shell over the extra $$ for quality.

Besides, striker fired guns are for people that can't shoot.

After a few years of owning an 2KSK, I much prefer the HK mag release. Yes I own other autos, Glock & Kahr, but I find the HK version much smoother. I use my middle finger and thumb at the same time, and with a traditional release, I find it feels more natural to rotate the gun to press.

HKs have become my hands down weapons of choice. I will pay their price for the extreme quality and engineering I get in return. Love the mag release also. The only thing I would ask HK to do at this point is start making pistols chambered in 357SIG again !!!!!! Bill

Oh yeah, and have the option of the P30/USP style safety lever, though I'm undecided on whether the decocker should be there or on the rear of the slide. I guess slide. But it should be one-side only, with ambi capability (I despise dual sided slide lock and safety levers... only adds weight, bulk, and additional parts).

As many have said in previous threads; an HK45c with a P30 grip. I would like to see a striker fired model, but the change of the 45c grip would be highest on my list.

A polymer frame P7 squeeze cocker with a browning style recoil system. Keep the low bore axis, use the current HK magazine release and offer single and double stack magazines. That would be a great start as far as I'm concerned. It was also striker fired for those wanting that feature.

A trigger that pulls the same for the first and second round - single action or stirker fired.

A price tag around $500.

Magazines for under $30.

That's not going to happen, but fortunately, Glock and S&W already make that gun. Other than, maybe, the MP5, I don't see anything H&K makes that is the best for its purpose - just the most expensive.

That is a complete lie. The polymer frame of the USP45 was much more easily scratched and damaged than any Glock I've ever had. How is that better quality?

Frankly I'd just like to see HK stop overcharging for their guns. The fanboy mentality of getting more for your dollar is just that. Fanboy mentality. Stop with the poor design, make them striker fired, stop using poor quality plastics, and stop treating the civilian market in the US like an afterthought.

If you take apart both guns and look at the parts, the hk's are higher quality. The glocks seem to be very basic and inexpensive. But that's the way they were designed to be. However, there is something to be said about them in that they JUST WORK. There is really not many things to go wrong on them. They don't have to have many things taking place for them to go bang. I have glocks and do like them. I just prefer hk.

I've had both and prefer Glock. The only difference I saw that I would say was an advantage for HK was the springs. Seems HK used higher quality springs back then (and I assume still do). I didn't feel that justified the higher price though.
