9 Month Back Log

Ordered Advantage Arms 22 conversion kit for my Glock 21, just received notice that it may be 9 months before order is fulfilled. That makes me tempted to go ahead and get a .22 pistol. Anybody know a dealer who has the conversion kit in stock?

My vote, too.

Go comb for a nice Ruger MKII or Browning Buckmark.
That amount of wait, considering the cost, and especially considering the overall performance (esp. accuracy) of the AA kit, I'd move on.

Ya, have not been able to find them anywhere. The 9 month is from Glockmeister. There seem to be Gen 4 model 21's available but none for Gen 3. Oh, well.

Buy a gen 4 to go with the gen 4 kit in stock. Might not be they way most people do things but seems like the thing I would do.

I hear ya, but my gen 3 is new, less than 300 rounds fired, and another 21 and kit is 800-1000 vs less than 400 for a .22 auto.

I had an AA kit for about two weeks. The aluminum slide is very light. My G19 just did not feel like a Glock anymore, so I sold it. You are far better of with a Buckmark.

I like the AA kits for training as far as trigger controll and cheap practice goes. Always end my shooting with a regular Glock slide and carry ammo.

Just check in every day. They get them pretty regularly. I just got a LE17/22 kit a couple of weeks ago.

That being said, I personally would get something else rather than wait 9 months. Just get something that feels like a Glock if you can. As much as I like my Ruger MKII, it doesn't feel like a regular pistol to me.

Troll gunbroker for a week or so, you ll see overpriced ones come and go but it wont be long before one pops up thats within $40 of regular pricing. I never mind paying a little more for something that I know is hard to come by.
Just my two cents, but Id get one if you dont/never had one. I probably wouldnt buy one again, NOW, but thats a few thousand rounds later and not because its not a good kit. I dont regret buying one, and Im in no rush to sell mine, but I do admit I dont shoot it nearly as much as I used to. Its also nice to know that you will not really lose much money on this purchase, they ve been back ordered pretty consistently for a couple years now, so if you dont like it, you can always flip it and get that Buckmark everyone's trying to push you into. ;-)
