Since you asked about our .308s, I have a 16" AR10 w/ a 3x ACOG on it. Nice little handy carbine, but a bit out of your price point.

F'ing brutal. Looks like LA. It's a Remington 700 LTR with a Mcree chassis.

Steyr Scout
M1A, with some mods
Could use 308 in the Rem M700 BDL in 30-06 if I had to. Not recommended, but I know it has worked for others.
As S&P person, I want an AR-10 clone...but I really don't need it. I would also like a dedicated precision bolt action in 308...but again, I don't need it..
As a S&P person I am still looking for a good reasonably priced combo gun, something in 308 would be nice.
As a collector, I would like a FN-FAL and a G3, but just don't want to spend the money.

Just throwing my .02 in. I have a browning a bolt in .308. It is a great gun that I use for hunting. It has a Zeiss Conquest 3.5 x 10 x 44 scope on it. Pretty accurate set up overall.

I have had AR-10's, FAL's and a PTR. Love my PTR91. mags are cheap and the thing just plain works. Love the delayed roller blow back design.

My wife has one we got her when she wanted a center fire rifle that she could learn to hunt with and for the price I am amazed at the quality of the rifle.
