Maybe the TP dispenser box is flat enough for setting the gun on top . . . .

I've used public restrooms for #2 twice in my lifetime. That was two times too many. And, yes, I'm the guy who has sanitizing wipes in my glove box.

I really try to avoid that situation. I have done it though. I take weapon out and hopefully there is toilet rack or something to set it on.

I know of an officer who was assigned to a medical escort detail at a large university hospital to remain nameless. This officer, along with two others, were to provide security for an inmate who was admitted. Per policy two of the officers were armed, the third was not because his job was to handle the inmate and all of the restraints, therefor keeping guns far out of reach of the inmate at all times. One of the armed officers went to the restroom there in the private hospital room, took his duty belt (w/gun, magazines/ etc. ) off and did his business. The officer then left the restroom and went to have a seat in the hospital room with the inmate and other officers. A short time later a nurse came in to the room, checked the inmate, and took the urinal into the bathroom to dump it out. She came back out of the bathroom holding up a duty belt (w/gun, magazines, etc.) in her hand and asked "Does this belong to any of you?!" The inmate laughes histarically, and the officer who left it there has to ask the nurse if he may have his gun back. This is a true story, and a perfect example of WHAT NOT TO DO with your gun when you use a restroom.

Snap it on your neck lanyard until you are done.

That beats holding it in your teeth the way a pirate holds his knife.

A shoulder holster would solve a lot of these problems.

I use a RM low rider IWB holster that I just take off my belt and set down inside my pants so that the gun stays holstered. No way am I leaving a gun or holster in plain site down on the floor so that someone in the next stall can see it and call the manager or the police. There are too many paranoid people out there.

Preface: Pay attention to what you are doing. Don't allow yourself to be distracted.

1. Get a proper holster and belt.

2. Leave gun in holster at all times.

3. Drop drawers as you sit down.

4. Spread knees to keep everything upright.

5. Pay no attention to the guy tapping his foot in the next stall.

I have known police officers, court officers, and an armored car guard who have all left weapons behind in the restroom. The public service employees were reprimanded, but the armored car guard was fired.

Regards,
Happyguy

I either don't worry about it or sit it on my pants. Eh. Doesn't happen to me that much.

There are few things more regularly entertaining here than a bathroom thread; one of those that can be more entertaining is a couple year old bathroom thread that suddenly comes to life again.

Under left arm beats in underwear every time, they have the plastic fold down kid holder how about a drop down shelf on the inside of the door? If you fold it down and place something on it, and get up and open the door with out your GLOCK an alarm should go off, no body ever left a kid strapped to the changer have they, or the car seat looking one inside some stalls. Poor kid gets strapped in when Mommy or Daddy has to go, what torture that must be.
