Agreed. And a GI 1911 would be one of them. I simply love Steel pistols, especially original Military design 1911's. All the poly pistols are pretty far down on my list not just Glocks.

Outside Glocks I am a big fan of the Beretta 92FS for a full sized 9mm. Very accurate and comfortable to shoot.

Ruger P95, they get a bad rap by some but don't believe it. Most people who actually own one will tell you they are very under rated.

Regardless of the barrel, there is no way the P7 is a full size pistol.

Gosh...I guess I have to say my Beretta PX4 -- because it's the only "native" 9mm I own...

But I also really like shooting my SIG P229 with a 9mm Bar-Sto conversion barrel...

After the Browning Hi Power, the 952 is my favorite 9mm.

CZ-75 or Browning Hi-Power. I don't quite get this notion of the Glock 17 being the preeminent 9mm. It's okay but frankly there are way better 9mm pistols out there in my opinion. To each their own though.

Its not even the best polymer, in my opinion, let alone the best 9mm.

Agreed. In terms of a polymer 9mm, I'd go for an XD or XDM. Well thought out overall, especially the XDm's. Don't care for the cocking serrations on the XDm's though, think they had it more right on the regular XD. Minor gripe for me personally...wish the serrations were vertical and more tightly grouped, but it's easy to get past that for how overall well made the XDm line is. Again, my opinion though.

I also much prefer the XDm over Glock.

Bustedknee,

that ammo isn't really suited for the old lady; it will bust her "knee", the toggle.

The Mauser-made P.08 is a nice pistol, mine is a byf from 1942.

But I also have a shooter-Luger
