Glock 27 9mm Conversion

I have a Gen4 G27 and was wondering how well the 9mm conversion works. I'd like it to get my wife and I to shoot more. She likes shooting but even light loads make her wrist hurt from recoil.

Do you just need a barrel and a mag? Does the cost of the ammo really offset the conversion? Is there any reliability issues or other concerns? What would be the best brand to get?

To bad it doesn't work the other way around so I can convert my 9mm (G26) to 40S&W

I recently converted my G22 to 9mm, and its as easy as pie. The barrel brands I explored we're Lone Wolf (LW), Storm Lake (SL) and KKM.

Based on my reading here at Glock Talk about conversions, these brands all work well. The LW is less expensive. The SL and KM are more expensive but seem to be finished to a slightly higher standard. LW and SL are often available on eBay, but I don't know about KKM. All three can be bought directly from the manufacturer.

A conversion barrel and 9mm mags complete the changeover. At least thats all I was advised to do. Many folks here have done the conversions, and they seem very satisfied with performance. I haven't fired mine yet, but it sure looks good with the stainless barrel in a black frame. Go for it!
