My first question was: is the plane ever going to lift off the ground, or will it roll all the way to the destination airport? Unfortunately for the passengers, the plane did lift off.
One of the hottest days of the year in Idaho. The plane was severely over gross weight. Four grown men, fuel, density altitude and temp around 100.
Loaded right at 70 degrees that plane should have come off the runway in less than 25% of the length. You think he would have figured out at about 50% of the way down he wasn't going to make it.
Once they were airborne but still not climbing fast enough, I kept thinking, "Sometime in the next three minutes, throw about 100 lbs of stuff out the window and you'll make it." That's all it would have taken, two suitcases out the door.
Stupid pilot. Should have aborted after the first 12,000 feet of TO roll.
