Plane hits car on landing

It seems to me that he was way too low. Looked like he was landing on displaced threshold.

Looks like both parties were at fault in this instance. Too bad the pilot is going to let that stop his plans for flying.

IANAP. What's the visibility like from the pilot's seat?

Visibility is fine. One normally doesn't expect a SUV to be crossing the threshold when one is landing.

The problem here is the SUV that really shouldn't have been crossing that path as the pilot was landing, and a very new student pilot who lacked the necessary judgement to fly a higher glide path, and to account for the vehicle. That vehicle would have been easily visible in the cockpit until it was actually in front of the aircraft.

Lesson learned.

The airport doesn't look like it averages all that busy, the vehicles on the road are probably used to not seeing any planes on final. They should have a stop sign with big works that say LOOK for planes.

The student was low, possibly in part to do with training to not land long on a short runway. No, not an excuse to be that low, but not wanting to roll off the other end either. Just another set of events that line up to lead to an accident. At least no funerals to attend.
