A "revenue enhancement" I would support.
I the spirit of working across the aisle, I propose the following:
1) Repeal ALL of the Bush tax cuts. Let the 47% start paying some of the freight
2) An increase of 1% on all FICA withholding (employee side only) to repay what we have "borrowed."
In addition, after the CBO calculates the "enhancement" this would bring in, a $2 reduction in spending across the board, for every $1 brought in. Every department gets a cut pro-rata. No discussion, no partisanship.

people need jobs, more jobs=more taxpayers along with some of your proposal....squeezing those who are still working is not the complete answer. We have record amount of people on welfare-foodstamps and the REAL unemployment is double the number the government touts.

Some departments are more worthless than others. Why would you cut the really lousy ones by the same amount as the more benign ones? Some programs & departments need to be eliminated entirely.

- go back to the Clinton/Gingrich tax rates for everyone
- go back to the Clinton/Gingrich welfare reform
- go back to the Clinton/Gingrich rate of spending relative to GDP
You'll notice that, despite them continually raving about "Clinton's economy", Obama and the socialists will never agree to any of the above points. Curious eh?

People voted for higher taxes. They should get them.

Like it or not, since reagan we've our nation has lived a party lifestyle. The party is over. Now we pay. Better we pay. Better than expecting our children and our grandchildren to pay for our bread and circuses. Let's pay up. And, let those who benefited the most from the party years by seeing their wealth increase exponentially pay up the most in percentage. I could not care less about dollar amounts. Percentage is what matters. Let the ones who enjoyed the party pay up... in full. Let our children and grandchildren learn from our mistakes.

I would like to see 10% tax for everyone and capital gains. No deductions, no earned income credits, no write off. Everyone pays the same percent on income.
But, the power to tax is the power to oppress and redistribute. It won't happen.

Cut them all in a non-partisan movement. Later we can go in and fine tune.
