Abolishing Socialism should be the main goal.
The Republicans should emphasize what they are for and not what they are against.
Try to get the evangelicals and Libertarians on board. We need a big tent.
I would be a Libertarian if they were a viable party but for now I am with the strongest party against the Democrat Socialists.
Big old bad Dick Cheney to paraphrase said, “Freedom is for everyone” when they cornered him about his gay daughter figuring he would bad mouth her (he defended her as a good father).
Another Barry Goldwater would work for me.

I agree with you ysr, if Republicans don't drop all the women/gay/minority hating, they'll never win an election. It's really not that hard to fathom why you lost when you piss off the exact people you need to help you win.
|
Romney lost because he is a moderate liberal. He got fewer votes than John McCain, another moderate liberal.
Minorities are not going to vote for a liberal white man over a liberal black man or a liberal democrat, no matter who that liberal white man is. Why vote for a copy, when you can vote for the real thing?
Romney lost because conservative white males didn't have a reason to come out and vote. The republican party has been taking conservative votes for granted, and they don't understand that conservatives won't vote for the lesser evil.
Every time the republicans lose, they think the answer is to move farther left. And then they lose again.

They stayed home because they were ignored, and Romney was a Mormon.

Well sir, take that to four years from now, and see where it gets us.
Maybe you should look a little harder. Around here they're working their silly asses off and buying real estate.

Lets see, The RNC lost with a flip/flopper who has voted for gun control, appointed radical gay rights activists as judges and created the basis for obama-care and you think he was too conservative. As my niece would say..."What-Ever!".

We don't think like you do. We don't sell out. We have principles. Frankly, you'll NEVER understand how a "right wing principled conservative" thinks.

Republicans here love to use the term "RINO". They criticize and slam a "RINO" like a "RINO" is the lowest form of life on the planet. Then, they go out and vote for a "RINO".
If we tried to explain principles, you wouldn't understand.

If they did indeed stay home, you've already ditched them.

I wonder about that. I never held Romney's religion against him, his liberalism was enough, but I cannot help but wonder how it played to a group who didn't show up on election day.

Agreed.

Actually, I think the republicans already did ditch the religious right wing. John McCain rejected the endorsement of John Hagee in 2008 and sought the votes of moderate liberals, and Mitt Romney, a known liberal, didn't exactly reach out to the religious right wing.
So, how did that work out for the republicans? Oh, wait, they lost both times.
Yeah, that's it, ditch the religious right wing. Keep up the losing streak.

I have to laugh at these sort of discussions; the fact is that the republican party needs the Christians a lot more than the Christians need the republican party.

The really funny thing is that idiots like you want to throw away millions of votes for Repubs. To gain thousands of votes by liberals/progressives/Jewish/libertarians...

Apparently so. Whenever the republican party goes it alone, they lose.
I wonder who these folks think is behind the TEA Party?
