Hey folks. Just ordered my first ever Glock (26 Gen 4) should arrive this week. Already ordered a Galco Horsehide pocket holster and a N82 Professional IWB for it. Was a three check month.

Live in Page, AZ in the heart of the canyonlands. Getting old ( I was a kid cop in the MLK riots). Still have my old S&W .38 service revolver. When I took my CCW course the kid teaching it asked me if it was a replica...because it was so old...nope kid, its original, even been a couple fire fights.

Just after I got my CCW Arizona legalized CC without a license but since I'm so near Nevada, Utah, Colorado, NM I like having it when I'm "over the line."

Been on a "retail therapy" binge that has enriched S&W (2 5 shot .38s) Kel Tec (PF9) Beretta (M9) NAA (.22 mouse gun) and now the Glock folks. My local gun dealer smiles when I come into his store, calls me by name, and seems to be able to score anything my new firearms addiction craves.

And profits at Galco, El Paso Saddlery, Bianchi, N82, and Blackhawk are up significantly as I've "had" to find just the right holsters for my new little friends.

I'm an olde geezer now...no more fist fights...so figured it was best to do a Clint Eastwood in Grand Torino or a Charles Bronson Death Wish gig to be able to take care of myself....especially in the wide open spaces of the canyonlands when I'm exploring.

Work as a state licensed therapist and have counseled many LEOs who have killed someone in the line of duty - know its no small thing no matter how justified. Have already had one crazy guy in my face and was most surprised about how calm I was knowing I was well healed if he decided to do more than yell insults at me.

So....we'll see how this new Austrian 9mm works out.

Supai (Havasupai: Havasuuw) is a town in Coconino County, Arizona, United States. As of the 1990 census, the town had a population of 423; the 2000 census erroneously recorded a population of 0 for the town.[1] The town is the capital of the Havasupai Indian Reservation. Supai is currently the only town in the United States where mail is still carried out by mules. It is also the most remote town in the lower 48 states, and the only way to get to it is to hike, ride a mule, or take a helicopter. Supai is eight miles (13 km) from the nearest road. There are no cars in the town.

The Northern part of Maine is fairly remote. Clayton Lake, ME is a 2 hour drive over 70 miles of rough dirt roads to the nearest pavement (and nearest town in the US). That is of course in the Summer, the winter distance and time can be far longer depending on which roads the logging companies are using and are passable. Maine has 5 out of 16 counties that are defined as "Frontier" by the US Census which makes up 61% of the total state.

Stehekin, Washington. Its in the heart of the Cascades and can only be accessed by either hiking in or a boat plane. BTW there are no roads going there.

Mentone, Texas, pop. 19, in Loving County, pop.82, deserves mention on a short list of isolated settlements. Mentone is an unincorporated area in Loving County, Texas, the least populous county in the United States. As the county's only community, it serves as the county seat and has a 2010 population of 19, almost one-fourth of the county's 82 people. Loving County is 673 square miles.

It is 580 miles along US-36, from St. Joseph MO to Denver CO. The largest town along the way has a population of less than 3.200 (Hiawatha, Kansas). That is the longest stretch of numbered highway in the lower 48 with no towns of larger size along the way. That would be the equivalent of driving from Maine to Virginia, without going through a town bigger then Rising Sun, Delaware.

Angle Inlet, Minnesota, population 60. It is the northernmost city in the continental United States, which is not connected by land to the rest of country. It is only accesible by car from Canada, via one single road. It is only accesible from the United States by boating across Lake of the Woods, which is a very large lake (largest freshwater lake in the United States excluding the Great Lakes), or by flying a small plane into the town's dirt landing strip. The nearest populated place is the town of Sprague, Manitoba, which is a 42 mile drive away southwest. The population of Sprague is around 20.

Navajo Mountain, Utah is the most remote community in the lower 48. Dang near impossible to get to from anywhere else.
