I have a Sig Tac-Ops with a threaded barrel and I have not had any issues except one in the first few mags with a Ranger T not completely going into battery. Since then I've gone approx. 1500 rds suppressed and un-suppressed without issue. I got mine for $864 and love it. Take it for what it's worth, just more info for the thread.

Your friends experiences with their "train wreck" pistols could be distressing for someone considering a purchase. Fortunately, I've had much better experiences with these Sig's(P220, 1911R, P226); they've all performed flawlessly and just as reliably as the G17 and G23.

Sig 1911's are good quality pistols for their price range and you get a lot of gun. You're friend's experience is just that, theirs...

Went by today and got them down to $775. I'm very tempted. Box, papers, (4) 8rd Metalform mags and gun may have had 50 rounds through it. The original owner bought it there when they didn't have the model he wanted. A week or two after he bought the Tac Ops, the model he was wanting came in. He traded it back to the same store.

This one might have had 50-100 rounds through it and came with box, paperwork and (4) 8rd mags for $775. I'm happy with it.

Awesome deal,.....ACT mags?
I'll look for one in a few months. With starting school & the Springer
getting to Joe's shop today, projects will taper off for a bit.

I think they're Metalform mags, but don't hold me to that one. I'm a Wilson or Tripp Cobra guy, but these work just fine in the Sig. For the money I paid, I don't think I've ever gotten a gun for the money that this one is....at least so far.

I have an original SIG GSR 1911, as well as a newer SIG Custom Shop STX and the shorter C3 model. I love them all. You won't be disappointed. I've loved SIG's for years, long before they even sold 1911's. True quality, engineering and customer service.

I read until my head hurt to educate myself a little on the 1911's before I made a purchase, just my nature. Everything I read about this firearm was good. I read nothing bad. Sig owners are a bit cultish which is a good thing because they believe in their choice. Kinda like Glock.
I had my choices down to the tac ops, extreme, and the TRP. If I didn't get a bit of extra sudden cash it would have been the Tac ops.
You did good!

Nice score, man! For that deal, I could certainly learn to love (or at least live with) the external extractor.
