Get something small that you will carry.

I'd say Spyderco Delica, Case Canoe.

I don't like SOG folders and I have a hard time recommending Kershaw though may folks love both of them.

I agree with you on Kershaw though. I don't feel they are on par with Spyderco or Benchmade. I really don't like assisted knives of any flavor.

I wish the new Benchmade flipper was in S30V, I'd love to try an Axis flipper!
The thumbstuds on the Umnumzaan are ok because they are close to the handle and unobtrusive. I am also of that clan of heathens on axis knives, I close them with the same motion in reverse.

I wish they weren't smooth, makes it harder to open with wet hands.

I don't recommend a 10mm to a new shooter either.. doesn't mean they won't grow into one however

1. Benchmade /Osborne axis lock $120
2. Spyderco Yojimbo2 $110 ( only spyderco I ever liked)
3. Kershaw /Onion open-assist $90
4. Emerson A100 $130
5. Kershaw Leek $85
6. Gerber/ Applegate $110 (only Gerber I ever liked)

I simply wont buy knives that cost more than $150 becuase I wont use them. I dont know.... heck, I am just that way.
