You see, the logistics are what makes religion and the bible fall apart. They just can't explain specific details, and want people to go on blind faith. I'm way too anally retentive about the specific details to go on blind faith.

From a biological standpoint, not allowing incest makes sense, because the species needs as much diversity as possible to prosper. But the bible seems to have a fair amount of incestous sex. My guess is they say "Oh, well it was okay back then because there were so few people back then, they didn't have a choice. But now we have more people, so it's not necessary, so now it's bad."

And the other part that makes me laugh is how christianity seems to be based upon the white male. Ever see a picture of Jesus? That's probably the first miracle, he's an arabian jew, but he looks like what Hitler defined as the perfect Aryan. Blonde hair, blue eyes, broad shoulders, tall. No "jewish" features to speak of. See Michelangelo's picture of God? White male. All of his disciples? White males.

Where did his disciples come from? Did they all come from the same area? Was that area really populated only by white people? Because from what I keep hearing, he came from Bethlehem, but Bethlehem is in the middle east. Don't you think he'd then appear to be Middle Eastern, instead of white?

Like I mentioned, I'm not all knowing about the bible, so I can't tell you specific bible verses unless I research them, and at 3am, I'm not really in the mood to research exact verses. But I seem to remember a fair bit of "God loves everybody" and then "God loves all of his believers and hates everybody else" and then "God loves everybody, including the people who don't like them, so long as they accept him and become believers" and other various small things. I'd most likely be accused of nit picking and being too literal, but that's what I do.

From what I gather online, it seems to be split about 50/50, or pretty close to that, some claiming they didn't have belly buttons because they were made and not born, and others claiming they were made with belly buttons to look like everybody else.

I think I remember reading somewhere that there was a bible verse where one of their kids asked why they didn't have belly buttons, but I could be totally wrong about that. It's 3am, my brain isn't fully functioning.

Idols in churches, especially the Catholic church, are a big problem within Christianity today. The Bible is explicitly clear on idols.

If you remember, all the sex abuse of alter boys was in the Catholic church too. People should be in jail, including their Pope, for covering up those crimes against children.

I have no tolerance for Catholics. Idol worshiping, child abusing, mackerel snapping heathens posing as Christians.

Which was to take the old reliable strategy of controlling the debate by choosing the terms - as in calling those who don't like homosexuals "homophobic" in order to ridicule them - and trying to turn it on atheists.

You present the fewer mistakes of Christianity as the norm, and ignore the larger good that Christianity has done. You ask for proof and evidence, knowing that you'll never accept it. You have no concept of Faith.

One might think you're possessed, but Christians know that not even the devil himself would venture near you. Even the devil is smart enough to believe in God.

So why do you fear Christianity?

I agree, what goes on here in many instances goes far beyond rejecting Christianity. Some of the atheist posters here actually remind me of radical Islamists.

And certain people here just seem to be hateful people, but I seem to run into that type more and more of late, even out in the "real" world. I'm not a psychologist but it seems many are missing a significant part of a healthy personality.

Islam is one of the Abrahamic religions, and I certainly do believe in it's existence and recognize it as one of the world's true religions.
