Hey! With six kids, two cars & cable to pay for, one really has to watch the budget.

I doubt half of that get to people. The administration needs to be compensated really well for providing this service after all.

For fiscal year 2011, CRS identified roughly 80 overlapping federal means-tested welfare programs that together represented the single largest budget item in 2011—more than the nation spends on Social Security, Medicare, or national defense.

And many, if not most, of the recipients have paid nothing into it, no taxes whatsoever.
Kind of like "free social security" and "free retirement" for doing no work whatsoever.

No wonder our economy is going down the toilet.

It would be like that if Sally Struthers could kick in your door, shoot your dog, seize your house and lock you in jail for not sponsoring.

And the poor little african kids could vote themselves 60 cents a day and more Sally Struthers with NFA shotguns.

If you add on Federal Government overhead costs, it is probably costing the taxpayers $568 per day.

The most upsetting thing about this is

If converted to cash payments, hourly rate exceeds median income by 20%

I don't want people starving in the streets but you shouldn't be able to live better on welfare than if you work full time.

I don't want to see anyone hungry, or homeless, in need of health care, or lacking anything necessary to live happily or in good health.
No matter if they are young or old, of any race or ethnicity, nor any national origin..


I do not however accept that their need constitutes a claim on me or my life and energy.

I do not recognize any damned open-ended "social contract, the terms of which are continually subject to expansion and ever-increasing liability at the whim of society or government.

Another word for such an arrangement is servitude, and I didn't sign up for that. I was born a free American and freedom from forced servitude is at the core of my birthright as an American.
