G17 Gen 1 factory Adjustable sight
I got a G17 Gen 1 (Serial # BZ)a few months ago and it had a standard rear U outline rear sight. I've read that mine should have came with an adjustable sight. Already checked Ebay and they are all Gen 3/4.
I just want one to make mine original again...
Thanks in Advance

Although those are adjustable, they are not the adjustable "weekend" sights that were placed on the original (gen 1) Glocks.
below is a good pic by zero.zero of the original (gen 1) rear sight

I have the original adjustable sights on my gen1 and lookin for another one for back up if anybody know where i can get one let me know.... Plus...Gen1 are hard to get now and barely any stores or online has them so dont price it low... Us Gen1 owners need to show the appreciation of the Gen1 and price them at a minimum of $600... Why do OD glocks have a premium and The rare almost nowhere to find Gen1 shouldnt have a premium... START RAISING THE PRICE.... If colt shows appreciation to there nostalgia we should too... Point blank...

The original adjustable sight was adjustable only for elevation, and had only four settings....at the same heights as the four fixed sights.
It was also poorly designed and easy to break, it was a good idea to replace it.

Yep, as you can see in zero.zero's photo, they hung over the back edge of the slide, so if they got snagged on anything (especially a coat sleeve), they'd snap right off at the dovetail and be destroyed...
Where'd the term "weekend" come from??

Story goes...While attempting to meet the ATF requirements for the first Glock imports (1986), Glock fell short of the requirement by just a few points. Gaston Glock ordered the factory to come up with an adjustable rear sight over the weekend to replace the fixed sight. The adjustable sight gave them the needed points which then allowed them to begin the import on time. They dubbed it the "weekend" sight.

Are these Gen1 Glocks With the adjustable sights Rare? The reason I ask is Because I can buy a gen1 17 That has never been shot That has the adjustable sights. If someone could please let me know I'd appreciate it.

From what hear they're rare for 2 reasons.
Most were removed at Georgia and replaced with fixed sight.
The other is they are fragile and don't usually last.
Mine is not an "unshot" in the box G19, I found it in a LGS/Pawnshop. I had never seen an factory G1 adj sight on a G19
Plus it has the Austrian proof marks.
I would but that G17 quick, it's a hard to find G1 and has the adj sight + never shot. Buy it quickly.
