Guess I'll just have to pony up the $40 for one from S/A.How do you like the feel of the extended grip ? I can just barely squeeze my pinky onto mine with the 5 rounder.I found that I shoot it better with my pinky under the grip though.I really want to try the 7 rounder, just to see how it shoots with a full grip.

I agree about wrapping the pinky under with the 5 rounder. even though I can squeeze mine on there if I want.
Pierce makes a pinky extension, but it looked really long, but maybe it wouldn't be that bad if you filled/cut it down to just be like a 1/4" longer than the stock mag's baseplate, b/c that's all you really need I bet.

It does look kinda long.Think I might get one and shorten it up and reshape it,just for the heck of it.
Would be nice if they had designed it to work with 1911 mags, just for back up or range use. They are very similar. My 1911 mag fits in the gun, but the mag catch design is different.

I was thinking the same thing last night! why the heck didn't they just make it work with a standard 1911 mag... i'd have a ton of spares already

The XDs has the ambidextrous mag releases in place and I expect compatibility with 1911 mags would have been tough.
I have the bi-tone XDs 45 ACP. It is a nice little concealed carry handgun. It comes with a holster, but I doubt I will use it.
I prefer the XDs for pocket carry. If I were to carry IWB/OWB, I have better choices, such as a Glock 27 or a 19. I could always carry a 1911 too. The XSs is small and light and that seems to make it good for deeper concealment.
It has manageable recoil, but you need to be firm with it, just as with any smaller handgun. Loose grip and wrist will make it less reliable. It works fine if you do your part.

That, and if I was releasing a new, more or less, design I don't think I would want folks sticking any old 1911 mag in it and complaining that my new design doesn't work. Given that there are three different feed lip configurations on 1911 mags, kind of hard to make sure they would all work in a very small pistol with little margin for error.

Keep watching SA's sight. I picked up some magazines from them for 30% off for my XDs two months ago. I remember hearing they do the sale about 3-4 times a year.

xds 7 round mags
SA just had a 30% off sale on all accessories during December.
Call cs and ask if another one is being offered?
They are extremely helpful.
I know $40 isn't cheap buy it's less than HK mags, plus shipping from SA is very fast and efficient!

I'm having a blast with mine as well! Fun shooter with surprisingly light recoil (quick and snappy but not punishing at all).

I just picked mine up yesterday, but it'll be a bit before I can get out to shoot it.

I have found mine to be slightly out of battery after carry in the factory holster that comes with it.Think it's happening while sitting in my truck.Anyone else experience this.I'm going to start shopping for a better holster with a closed bottom.

The Springfield factory holsters that are included with the XDs are useful for the range and maybe around home but I wouldn't bother trying to CCW with them. They make the XDS as bulky as a 1911 in a good holster.

Strayed away from the kydex/leather IWB and went full leather with loops from Winthrop. So far, the most comfortable holster I've owned.
