Good collapsible stock?
Does anybody have a recommendation for a good collapsible stock for a commercial buffer tube?
My only complaint with my Bushmaster thus far is that the stock is loose (shakes a lot and is noisy) and the back is rather harsh.
I tried a friend's new RRA and his stock is very nice - feels solid, no wobble, and has a thick rubber pad on the back.
I see that the local Cabela's has Magpul stocks but I haven't even pulled on out of the box to examine them yet. Any recommendations?

Are you sure your buffer tube is commercial size and not mil-spec? I only ask because my buffer tube is mil-spec and when I put a commercial size stock on it, it does what you describe. It's loose and rattles.
Anyway back to your question, Magpul has good stocks. The hard part is deciding which one you want. What all do you ask of your stock? After that then it shouldn't be too hard to narrow down which stock you want.

Could always try the MagPul CTR if the slop is unbearable. Just make sure you get the correct model to match your tube: commercial.

I did a search a few weeks ago to determine if I have a commercial or mil-spec buffer tube. Everything I read said that Bushmaster uses commercial buffer tubes, hence my belief that it's a commercial tube.
I'm looking for a stock that is solid, doesn't wiggle, and has a nice pad on the back. Occasionally if I don't get the stock placed correctly on my shoulder, the factory stock hits my collar bone and ouch! Yes, my own fault for not having it in the right spot, but I'd rather have a pad that's a little more forgiving if I don't have it placed exactly correctly.

I would say the Magpul CTR. You can lock it into place. I had one on my Bushmaster.

Magpul CTR, STR, or ACS in Commercial spec. I'm partial to the STR on typical carbines, and the (EDIT) ACS for more muzzle-heavy guns.

Another vote for the Magpul CTR. You can even add an additional butt pad if needed.

I just replaced my a1 stock with a new milspec tube and a Magpul ctr stock. Its great. So much better than the standard collapsible that one of my previous rifles had.

Thanks for all the advice. I received my CTR today. It's so much nicer than the stock that came with my AR. I also ordered an extended Magpul pad for the end but it turns out that it can't be installed on the commercial CTR. Anyway, I'm very happy with the CTR. Thanks, everybody!
