A friend just got one, and brought it over for a test run. Shoots great, BUT damm, that thing just dents the case mouths almost half way closed!!! We tried several loads, as well as factory win white box---all with same results. He took it home and had to remove some metal around the ejection port, and slightly re-shape the ejector. Another test revealed the problem solved. I would be interested to know if all of them are going to be this hard on brass. My full size ruger 1911 never did this.

Awesome! I now have a new dream gun. Ruger has really put their finger on the pulse of American shooters lately...

WOW, I saw one at a gun show last weekend and they
wanted $895 for it. I was shocked to see the commander
since I have yet to see a Government model and was even
more shocked at the price.

If I could find one for $750 to my door / out the door, I'd buy it on the spot.

I wouldn't take one at any price if it ruins all the brass.
NOT GOOD.

It seems like the Commander model is more available than the full size model was when it first came out.? I waited over a year to find one.? What a great 1911 it is.
