Very nice. I was lucky enough to shoot one a month ago when they came to our range for a demo day. I liked it alot and am thinking about getting one. It was luxurious to shoot.

I gotta take back what I posted earlier. The problem is with my Wilson 47D followers just being worn out. I opened up a bunch of McCormick power mags that have been sitting around, and they work fine. This is why I love the McCormick mags - metal followers. The Wilson's have hung in there for a long time, but looking closely, you can see where the follower is worn down where it pushes up on the slide stop.

Guys I know who are serious about USPSA around here will go through 30k in a year easy, but they are shooting one thing over and over. I like to shoot rifle, revolvers and shotgun too. I'll only do a match every few months or so. Helps to have a good supply of free lead.

I'm like you... I shoot about 200 - 250 rounds of .45 per month. If I can go that many years without any issues, I'll be pretty happy.

I always wanted my first 1911 to be a $1200-1500 model, something really classy and quality. The three final contenders for a long time have been, in no particular order:

TRP
DW Valor
Colt XSE

The TRP is a high-class gun. You'll love it.

I just got home from the range. I only brought 50 rounds with me of .45 because my two children went to shoot their rifles.
I shot my two CM power mags (10 rounds - which will be illegal soon) without any problems. I am glad I got the TRP- it runs flawlessly and the ambi safety is great because I am going for right hand rotator cuff sugery in a couple weeks and have been shooting left handed. Unbelievable gun for sure!

I waited for almost 2 years to find one that wasnt horribly over priced and finally just bit the bullet and got one, armory kote, no rail of course and love it.

The front strap checkering I heard horror stories about is awesome and couldnt imagine having a 1911 without it now.

I did take the advice of the members here and got a GI plug and guide rod it made cleaning this thing about as simple as a 1911 gets in combination with frog grease on the rails, and "oil" on everything else. Just wipes clean.

I think the only person I'd listen to more closely about 1911s is JMB. Noted, sir, and thank you.

Out of curiosity, does Colt make one in the same league? Combat oriented rather than target?

I happen to agree with you on Colts 1911's. However our friend "Scooter" doesn't. I am not sure fnfalman wants to get in a 1911 war of words with you but if he does........

They're both factory. Only thing changed in those pics were the front sights, triggers and flush crowned barrels.
