.45 LC - go deep
Hmmm penetration you want? .45 LC Buffola Bore 300gr FN cast bullet.
6.5" Judge didn't work out for a shooting buddy. Shoots warm hunting loads well I had a Sight Mark mini pro reflex put on it and the tigger cleaned up. Kinda ugly but it shoots good. BB FNL 300grs. 2&1/4" 10 shot group at 50 yds off of bags.

Let me guess. This ugly revolver can also shoot .410 shotgun shells.

Right! you are. I have just been shooting warm .45 LC out of the Taurus so far. I haven't put in Ruger .45 LC thur it yet. Not sure if the cyloinder is rated for then.

Yeap that's gonna penetrate! I'm assuming that's a regular pressure Buffalo Bore 300gr?

SD, yes I haven't been able to decide that the Judge is rated for HOT 45 LC. I also shoot a Ruger 45 LC so I have them around???
Ya got any idea what the Judge cylinder is rated for?

According to the Schwartz bullet penetration equation, that BB load oughtta be good for 43-45 inches of penetration.
Niiiice.

I handload 310grLFP in my 45colt RBH. At a comfy 1000fps, it will out penetrate my 404jeffery w/ 400gr softs @ 2150fps! That is impressive for a handgun Why it's a top choice for backpacking in big ber country.

I'm not seeing a 300 grain standard pressure load on Buffalo Bore's website. I definitely wouldn't shoot the "+P" loads out of a Taurus, even though that Judge probably has a ton of freebore.
I definitely like heavy .45 Colt loads for my Blackhawk. I did work up a 300 grain load and get it right at 1,000 fps, but the hot load of choice is a 250 grain XTP at 1,200. Just more accurate. Plenty for anything in this stretch of the Rockies.

Zombie, you are right. When I got the Judge I was think about the 454 five shot Taurus. After I shot the 10 BB 300 and posted this....I read the manual.
It is not a good idea to shot +p loads according to the manual. I guess I proof test the Judge.
I load some 300 lfp in front of little over 15 grs of 2400. Just a tick over 1000 fps. Much kinder load but still penetrates.
Thanks for the advice. Ya should really read your manual before shooting your revolver
