Corbon 115+p JHP 9mm
I know this has probably been beat to death, but I got to ask about personal defense rounds. I also know that probably most top tier ammo will suit its purpose. I mean the chances any of us will actually have to use it is low, but What are your thoughts on the corbon 115+p JHP in 9mm. The stats are 1350 fps and 466ft/lbs. Thats a fast round that shows up in a bad mood!!
any thoughts

It's a pretty good load. I have several hundred Winchester RA9115HP+ 115 +P+ loads so I don't need to buy 20 round boxes of Cor-Bon but it will work fine.

A lot of the Corbon JHP rounds are designed to peneterate 9"-12", which is a little shallow for my liking.
If you want to carry a warm 115gr load I would look into the 9bple round from Federal. It has been out a long time, has actual street results and is far cheaper than the Corbon loads.

Corbon designed their 115JHP+P load to be the "civilian" version of Federal and Winchester's highly effective 115JHP+P+ LE only loads, and IMO, they have met the challenge.

Corbon now uses their own proprietary JHP for the 115 gr. +p, having dropped the Sierra bullet. That said, the newest version has been changed so it penetrates deeper according to Corbon. I have some of the newest ones and they have certainly changed the HP cavity in that it has a thicker leading edge at the mouth of said cavity.
I have not seen any testing with this newest version of this classic load. Perhaps M. Shovel from Corbon will chip in here as he posts now & then. I have shot a few boxes and as always with this load, phenomenal accuracy.

Overall I prefer the good selection of 124-grain 9mm JHP rounds for self-defense but I'm confident that the 115-grain +P+ rounds will definitely create a bad hair day for any criminal who happens to run into one.
I have some Federal 9BPLE that I wouldn't hesitate to carry and lately I've been interested in finding some Speer 115-grain Gold Dot +P+ to have a bonded version.

I carry the Fed 9BPLE in my G17 with total confidence in it. It chronos at 1400 FPS out of my G17! I also like the CorBon 115gr +p load. It chronos at 1370 FPS.

I've shot a lot of different type rds through my G19. +p, +p+, etc.
Those Corbon 115+p are by far the hottest rds i've fired through my G19. To me they felt the same recoil as shooting some hot Buffalo Bore 357sig.

I had read that they had stopped using the Sierra bullet a while back.

I forget where I read it (probably here a while back) but according to a study done last year, Speer Gold Dot HP 9 mm 124+P expands on average to 2x its original diameter on impact, which is evidently the best of any that were reviewed.
Bad hair day, indeed!

Corbon JHP 115+P is all I use on my G26, don't know if this the right ammo for that little barrel but I feel safe with it.
Kind of pricey and I hate the 20 round box, but it worth it!

All it takes is a POTUS threatening the ammo supply . . . . . .
