The latest gun control scare and used 1911s

The latest gun control scare has curtailed nicely with my renewed love affair with the 1911. I have been seeing more and more used 1911s in the shops and it has been tough on my checking account. I have even seen two Norincos for sale in the last week and I have not seen one of those in person for years. I had to bring one home. A Norinco was my first 1911. They were a lot cheaper back then.

Anyone else seeing this?

Yes. Been looking for a nice shooter.
LGS never has any 1911's in the used case.
2 weeks ago they had a Super Match.
This week that had a Nighthawk Lady Hawk.
Prices were new price and had to pass.

Yes! I saw my first "live" Norinco at the local fun show a couple of weeks ago. I'm still kicking myself for walking by it. I hesitated... But walked on (dammit).

I have a RIA in .45 CS and for a 3.5 inch officers model,it shoots like a dream. Bought it cheap from Cabelas in Lavista,Nebraska and it is parkerized. I will not get rid of this beauty of a 1911.

The 1911 I bought for Xmas($750) is 25% higher in price now at the same shop

The 1911 I'm thinking of getting next($1450) has remained about the same on GB

Not me. 1911's seem plentiful and (relatively) cheap here. Except for the high end and customs - they seem to maintain value, regardless of the market.

If anything I've seen everything go up, including high and low end 1911s. Nothing here locally is in stock except Kimber and a few Springfields.

They're everywhere up here, for $350 BNIB. I wonder if you can export Chinese guns FROM Canada, some kind of a loophole...

Yeah, all the Philipino copies would be in trouble if we could get those in the US.

Well if all this crap about "high capacity" guns make 1911s price drop I guess that is a silver lining to the clouds. I wouldn't mind picking up another 1911.

Our local shop that carries Wilson even bumped their prices on run of the mill CQBs. Hopefully the bottom will drop out of the gun market around summer time.
