Glocks are great!
I take my carry G22. Haven't shot it in over a month. Hasn't left the holster in 2 weeks. Lint all over it, proceeded to draw from concealment at the range this weekend & rapid fired all 16rds & then reloaded with my spare carry mag that hasn't seen use in 2 months & rapid fired all 15rds of that carry ammo........
Problem free & shots COM at 15 feet
Yet the 1911 I baby that almost never sees range time choked after the 1st mag with a FTF.

I have lots of 1911s and none come close to the reliability of a glock.
Not even the Wilson comes close.
Fancy 1911s or not my nightstand gun is a glock, so is my carry.
Tired of dealing with the endless babying, oiling, cleaning, too much oil, not enough, can't so this, can't do that or it won't fire.
So glad those days are gone.
However nothing beats a 1911 trigger......nothing!

The Glock is a tool that you never have to worry about. I enjoy being able to let it collide with door facings in my duty holster and it being put in a metal locker before having access to the jail area without worry. It's a tool.
The Wilson is a finely crafted piece of machinery from bar stock. However it too has always worked with flawless precision and accuracy with excellent ergonomics.
I like both, but no way in hell I would ever get rid of the Wilson.

I have been a Glock owner since 1989 - I have never heard of this.

A 1911 is a gun you show your friends, a Glock is a gun you show your enemies.

I was making a funny about the 1911 jamming. I have a friend that owns a Covert 4" Kimber and the recoil spring replacemnt is every 800 rds. Kind of a running internal joke (1911's) about having to say nice things to it, change the oil & lube the rails, pet it from time to time, Etc.
Disclaimer: before someone calls me a stupid moron, I do think 1911's & JMB are cool. 1911's are reliable. The triggers and accuracy are great. Just poking honest fun Ford/Chevy kinda thing. Please sit back down and take a deep breath.

Anyone else tired of this stupid statement?
My 1911s are every bit as reliable as my Glocks.

I'm not tired of that statement.
And.....my 1911's are typically not nearly as reliable as Glocks are. I do trust my life to my Glocks can't say that about my 1911's.

Maybe your 1911 sat for too long, and needs to be broke in again?

My best friend has 2 Kimber 1911's one in 45ACP and one in 9MM. The 45 had to "break in" before it would stop jamming. I never herd of such a thing as breaking in till it stops jamming but sure enough after about 300 rounds it did quit. Never had that issue with any Glock I owned.
Both are good guns comes down to opinion.... and you know what they say about opinions?
They are like but holes everyone has one!

Wow- thats strange to see you type that...considering you are in prime 1911 territory (NightHawk).
They won't drive you out of town will they? (Joking)

Happy to say I never bought into the hype, and squandered hard earned money on a 1911....
They have far less value than any Glock, M&P, H&K, CZ, FN, Beretta, Sig, etc...But they cost twice as much....
The British Army just switched to Glocks after 50 yrs of using the Browning Hi-Power....
They did much research, competitive shooting drills, and torture tests for reliability under all conditions....
They just wanted the best...
They chose Glock Gen 4's !
