I have a 17 and a 21sf... but my 34 has a higher round count!

I prefer the G17 over the G21.

G21 only if your a Cop, open carrying.
Better stopping power for close encounters.
You can carry plenty of extra full mags on your belt.
.
Otherwise G17 !

Glock 17 for blasting about.
I prefer me G30SF for the bedside.
The G21 is very large for a mere few more rounds over the contrasted aforementioned.

Don't freak out. I follow politics like a junkie and all the experts agree that there is not enough votes in EITHER house to get another AWB passed. Even Bill Clinton has warned Dems to back off this one. Hussein doesn't have the power to pass something like that with Executive Order.

I'd be more worried about what STATES do. Look at New York. And the soft-headed communists in my state are proposing similar measures. Ugh!

I would go with the 17. Everyone needs a glock 17. The 21 is good also but ammo is more $.

IMO ammo is more expensive but for a nighstand gun you can't beat the G21. I keep that on the stand with another loaded mag in the drawer and can't imagine what I couldn't handle with 27 rds of 45.

Congrats on picking the G17. Now keep an eye out for a G21.

Even with the greater capacity of the 17 I would still go with the 45. Many might say with today's ammo the 9 is as good as the 45. In the end it's a personal choice. What gun feels most comfortable to you. Maybe recoil is a consideration? You mentioned the range. Nothing is better than going to the range with a 45 and some bowling pins.
I considered the compromise between stopping power of the 45 and quantity of the 9mm and settled on a G35 with the .40 S&W. I get almost as many rounds as the G17, with almost as much stopping power as the G21.

My 21 gets a bunch more range time than my 17. Just a blast every time out. 17 is a good weapon, but I grab the 21 first.

i like the g21.

I own a g30 and i love it. i want to get a 21 sometime (hopefully soon) and have the papa and youngin'. never shot a 21 but my 30 shoots great so id assume the same from the 21.

My G17 is in a gun sock. The G21 is ready to go, and fun to shoot.
