Instructor may have injured officer outside of training drill

Safety and adhearing to established safe procedures and protocols is a NEVER ENDING quest regardless of who is doing the training. A tragic and painful reminder of what can happen when falling short on safety. Even the most experienced among us are NOT immune to it. Horse play NEVER has a place on the firing line. It is especially important for our young people who are just getting exposure to firearms to FULLY understand this.

No matter how hard you preach, someone always plays with danger.

No excuse for it. But, it is a workplace hazard.

Hope for the injured fellow. No rational reason for this.

Baltimore City really is an agency in a death spiral. As has been reported, this definitely points to a lack of institutional control. Probably won't be long till the feds step in.

Doesn't answer what a live weapon was doing at a Sims exercise.

There were multiple failures here.

Depending on just where, maybe not so much. Could be a devastating injury that full recovery is not possible from.
Lets hope for the best.

Clear violation of common sense, protocol and training.
