Update: I fired my new Sig C3
I wanted to give you an update on the Sig C3 I was ordering. It finally arrived and today I got a chance to fire a few rounds. Actually, I fired 62 rounds. My first goal was to check the sights to see if they needed adjusting. They are dead on--no adjustment necessary. I consistently hit a 5-gallon bucket at 50 yards offhand, with wind blowing 20 mph. The 62 fired rounds consisted of 50 Winchester FMJ and 12 of my low-powered target loads with lead bullets. It malfunctioned once with the target loads in that the recoil was insufficient to eject the empty case. Other than that, it gobbled up everything else, including mixing target load rounds between factory ammo.
The trigger needs a comment in that it is the best trigger I have ever had on a 1911. It is comparable with my pre-70 series Gold Cup. It will take some training and getting used to since I will use it as a carry gun--not a target gun. The safety is the type I like in that it on one side only, and it takes an intentional push to disengage. It will not disengage accidentally.
The light weight aluminum frame will make it a pleasure to carry all day in a holster, which is what I do every day.
So, the little Sig has found a permanent home with me. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a light weight, high quality 1911 for carry.
