6920MP-B vs S&W MP15x
I have the opportunity to buy in hand the smith and wesson MP15x for $1380 today or wait for a colt 6920MP-B $1230 I ordered + shipping. I'm thinking of canceling my order for the Colt and just grabbing the S&W. What do you think?

You do understand that there is no way to know when you would get the Colt, right?
Could be days, weeks, months........no way to know.

I am patient and understand it may take a long time to get. Its just when you have a gun in your hand its hard to not buy it on the spot. The Colt had the Magpul furniture which is worth waiting for. I guess I'm just paranoid to get an AR sooner than later. But I can wait for a better gun if necessary.

Wait, it will most likely come eventually, I wouldn't pay that much for the m&p because of the panic, though they are decent rifles.

Ok. I feel better waiting for the Colt now. Review and researching seem to lean more toward the Colt. However, I called a few local places and found a Daniel Defense M4V1 for $1450. Now this has me thinking again, haha.

Go for it, I probably would if I was in the market for an AR. MSRP is $1759 and Daniel Defense makes a quality product.

Hmm. The Daniel Defense does have that sweet quad rail with a nicer vertical grip plus the Magpul stock and the cost of shipping and FFL transfer might equal the price difference between the DD and the Colt. I might make an early morning trip tomorrow.

Get the DD, and I own a Colt.
Seriously, DD makes good stuff. If you can get a DD now, do it.
Between the S&W and wait for Colt. Colt.
I've got a 6920, and I wouldn't give it up for any other AR.

Get the DD now is my vote.
If not that then the Colt is a great AR and from what you posted cheaper than the S&W. But who knows when it is going to show. The S&W is a fine rifle from what I hear. The Colt is a great AR but not as head and shoulder above other ARs as some other believe IMO.
I certainly would not bypass a bunch of quality ARs waiting for a Colt myself. I bought my 6920 on a impulse and random chance running across it being for sale, no issues with doing that but I would not have waited for it while other ARs were sitting on the shelf.

Well I called again and they sold the DD V1 but had the V5 which is a 300 blackout caliber. I'm not to familiar with that caliber so I'm going to let the DD pass. Had my hopes up for that V1 for the night though.

Bypass the 300blk and Ilike the 300blk. It's a great round but still a little ($1 or $2 per 20) out of my comfort zone when .223 can be purchased for $5+/- per 20.

I would stay away from the 300 right now. .223/5.56 will be on the shelves in quantity before .300 will IMO.

Yeah, I did a quick read on the 300blk and didn't like what I read. The ammo seems too expensive for my taste. I would rather shoot more 223 or 556. Back to the waiting game.

DD has reinstated their "build your DDM4" option.
https://danieldefense.com/build-your-ddm4
Well, it's now down once again due to "high demand."
I had DD build an AR roughly 2-3 years ago. It took a month and a half, give or take.

I love my 6920 MP-B. I figured if I'm gonna get a quality AR-15, it may as well be from the company that's been perfecting them for 40+ years.
