I'd rather wait and grab a 'mil spec' bolt, personally.

And they are still in stock. If they were on BCMs website they would only last 5 minutes!

I don't see anything about them not being mil-spec, they are magnetic particle inspected which is a "high end" spec.

8620 steel isn't milspec and I don't see anything about shot peening. AR Stoner is Midway's house brand made by different companies. Who made them? The testing could've be done on batches. Companies are ramping up production on easy to get out commercial parts, semi-auto carriers and 8620 bolts. I may be wrong but I don't think a similar 8620 bolt would ever be on BCMs website.

You can do magnetic particle inspection on crappy steel products too.

I love how the gun industry throws out these acronyms like they're some sort of high-falutin' stuff: MPI, Magna Flux, Tricorder, Gamma Ray, ad nauseaum.

We do magnetic particle tests and dye penetrant tests on many pipe welds that aren't all that high-tech or fancy.

Do you know what the mil spec is?

Because it isn't 8620 Steel. If it were mil spec it would be shot peened Carpenter 158.

There are other specs not listed that I'll bet aren't "mil spec" either.

The reason it wouldn't last 5 minutes on BCM's website is because it would be a higher quality part if it were a BCM bolt. While BCM hasn't listed a stand alone bolt in stock for months that I know of, their last price was $69.
