Pisssed off.
Walmart sold a Colt AR today for $1600, i'm not sure, but i'm assuming it was the same 6920 that they were selling for $1097. I was only able to talk to my friend for a moment that works in that department. He said they had it less than an hour. What gives? Walmarts mark-up is not much. So who's getting all the money, Colt or the distributor or both?

Whatever, i posted this about the price of an AR. I could care less where someone shops. The point is walmarts cost went way up. They don't mark things up high just because someone will pay it, like all the others are doing.

The Colt 6920 SOCOM sells for ~$1600. Don't jump to conclusions just yet. Don't assume that just because they've been selling plain jane 6920's that this one is the same. Assumptions are no bueno!

I agree, i'll find out tomorrow, and give update. I'd be surprised if it were though, as we have just been getting Bushmasters in. And never anything more expensive than the 6920. We'll see.

If you'd be selling a gun and someone offered to pay you 1600 vs. 1100, you'd jump on that yesterday. You should be glad someone bought it, because in a few months when this madness is over, people will be unloading their guns they bought to make profit to pay off their credit card bills. THEN you can buy it for 1100, 1000, 899, whatever. So, chill out, relax, and observe the madness.

I think things are finally starting to settle down some. My LGS went to the big gun show in Louisville this weekend. He had a couple of Busmaster AR's that he couldn't keep on the shelf for more than a day three weeks ago at $1600. He had two marked at $1195 for the show and nobody even looked at them. He still has them. Pretty much feels its starting to come back to reality. By September we should see ammo get back to normal.

I bought the Colt LE6920 SOCOM model at Walmart for $1497 plus tax...($1620 OTD)...
That was two weeks ago and about as good a price as anywhere on the internet....
Sounded fair to me...

Cry me a river there JT. Did you make this thread after your mom told you to shut up and stop being such a *****? Man up.
Next time make sure you know the complete story before wasting band width w/ your little fire face rant.

My drill sergeant used to tell me, "Son, it's better to be pissed off than be pissed on...unless that's what you want to have done to you while you're in Pusan."

Unfortunately, that is a crucial piece of information for this discussion. Respectfully, I suggest next time you get all your facts in a row before posting about how pissed off you are. This will decrease your stress level.

bigmoney, Your right, i stand corected ( which i'm glad was the case) it was not a 6920. I only post this because i said i would, with all the bs flax on this. I should have just said , they had a 1600 $ Colt what gives? What i found out was he did not know the #, but said he didn't see socom, but it did say "tactical" and that it was a cool rifle that we never had before. Said it was short and had a different elevated rear sight than the others. As far as get a life goes, sounds like a couple of you need to..... wait i hear my mother calling to her 58yr old son, i guess it's time for me to go to bed now, it's been fun guy's.

You need to read what he wrote, it was not a bash at Wal-mart
he in fact said he knew their mark up was not that much.
He was asking a valid question as to where the mark up may be, (if any) at Colt or the distributor level.
cant we all just get along.

There are people who spend their lives hanging out here and take pride in their post count and this is how that post count grows, by posting little insignificant comments. They add little to no content to the subject at hand, but they raised that post count.

Kinda sounds like that is what you are doing,.......
A lot of biOtching and moaning over a bunch of BS.
Gun prices are overinflated, who gives a crap what company's
pockets are getting filled. The only fix is to not buy at BS prices!
No I know why I have not logged on for a month!
Worse than a bunch of soap opera watching house wives!
