It also installs 'add-ons' for your browsers. I don't recommend those, either, and the 'fix' is the same: Deselect them and don't install them. If you do, I would bet apples to oranges that your web traffic is tracked by the extensions.
The program runs fine as a standalone, but it's sort of like a mini browser, and it presents you with an ad (usually for some 'app') in the main window each time you run it. The 'fix' here is easy: Just don't click it.
