What happened to "equal protection under the law"? Oh, I forgot - some comrades are more equal than others.

Why would they need to be exempted? Just look at all of that security in City Hall. You don't suppose that they think that their lives are more important than a regular citizen do you?

Shocking....an Alderman wants special privileges? Did you know a Chicago Alderman has been able to legally carry for awhile now even though the rest of that state can't yet? Obviously their definition of equal is that some are more equal than others.

Yeah, it's not gun control, it's people control.

I would like to see this pushed from a different angle. I think everyone should be shouting from the roof tops that if gun free zones work, they should not need the exemption. They obviously believe the gun free zones won't work otherwise they wouldn't need security or exemptions for themselves. Point out the hypocrisy for the idiotic laws and ordinances that they themselves admit via the special exemptions, won't work.

The question is do they have the authority to do this?

In Michigan we have a pre-emption law that prevents local governments from creating laws pertaining to the legal ownership, transporation, etc of firearms.
However, this law has not prevented some from attempting to create a law but they have never prevailed in court.

Does the preemptive law give the local municipalities leeway for their own property? Although it is preemptive, some will give allowances for the local municipalities to regulate their buildings/meetings.

Why are elected officials so stupid that they think a law will stop a criminal from doing what he wants? Why? Are they so delusional that they think their actions will scare the criminal off?

Even in communism and socialism there was the wealthy and elite ruling class.
Why should our Marxist utopia be any different?

You cannot overcome the 47% of the population that refuses to see the truth, and don't want to see the truth.

I'm not even sure that we can ever vote these traitors out of office anymore.
I believe the time has come to wake up to the cold hard reality while we still have some semblance of freedom left.

Let these socialist Democrates win the next presidential election and things like constitutional rights will be a quickly vanishing memory.

And yes, they will still have their rights and the guns to protect themselves from the peasants.

I know that here in MS, state preemption prevents local governments from passing more restrictive gun laws. There was a case in north MS where a sheriff asked the State AG if the county could stop concealed carry, with an "enhanced permit", in the county courthouse. AG office said NO, they cannot stop conceal carry in court houses except for court rooms with court in session. So I guess it will vary from state to state.

You can say anything you want about the Governor of Texas but one of the things Rick Perry has signed into law is no state building can exempt ccw with the exception of courts, jails, prisons, voting places but I think that one is federal. I have personally carried into the Texas Capitol ccw even has a special line. You walk in show your ccw and walk on in everyone else goes through the magnetomoter.

This tells me one thing, the people that designate gun-free zones know they don't work.
