I have a Glock 36 (6+1 with no mods to the mag). My question is this - would my 36 slide fit on either a Gen3 Glock 30 or 30S frame?

Yes on the G30, and since the 30s is a 30SF lower I would think so on it as well.

I was determined to get a G30 Gen 4, but found a blue box G30s which I am picking up tomorrow! W0ot!

(sush, let's keep this between us and not bring it up to my wife) J/K

My understanding is that
Glock developed the G30S at the request of the LAPD.
If you're going undercover?
Get the G30S.

I've only handled both. For my personal needs of concealed carry, the extra thinness of the 30s is worth it to me. I don't care to shoot other calibers through it, so the ability to change them is moot. If it wasn't for the carry aspect though, I would simply get the Gen 4 30 as I much prefer the texture and other updates the Gen 4's have.

Had a Glock 30 and liked it though it is wide. Sold it and picked up a Glock 36 which is in my carry rotation. I'm waiting for my LGS to find a Glock 30S so I can add it to my collection. I think it adds the best of both worlds; the mag capacity of the 30 with the slim slide of the 36.

I think it's a win win for me.

Anyone know where I can find a Gen 4 Glock 19? I need to locate one before the BS mag cap law goes into effect here in CO on July 1st.

Buy the mags separately NOW if you.cannot immediately find the gun. You should be able to STILL get the gun after the ban kicks in.

Actually GSSF members are able to purchase them as well. Blue lable is better defined by saying "Agency" Sales (and GSSF members with purchase coupon). The Glock box has a blue sticker on it rather than red/pink or other - hence the term blue label.

They are out there now, but mostly "Blue Label". These were announced at this past years shot show marketed to "agency" and legal concealed carry holders. They are rolling them out to the agencies first, and according to the LGS they hope to get some non-blue label boxes soon. It does seem that Glock is now starting to get more firearms to their dealers than from a month ago.

Since I was hell-bent on owning one, I turned to internet sales and purchased both a M&P Shield in .40 and a G17 Gen4 over the internet with great success. I fared well with the Shield, and not so much on the G17 - but I have them both in my hands. Keep looking and wait until you find what your looking for. Do not compromise! You'll eventually find what you are looking for.

I'd get the 30, for the +p ammo.

I think you already have the best - your 27. Haven't shot the 30s or 36 but I imagine the 27 will shoot better. Accuracy is everything. jw38

Sorry, the G27 does not shoot better then a G30 as the G30 is the most accurate Glock.

The regular 30 barrel is not interchangeable with the 30s. The 30 barrel is thicker and can shoot the +p loads, and you can swap a 10mm barrel into the frame without any issue as well.

Barrel swaps won't fit in the 30s and it is only rated for 45 ACP is what I believe I have read on the interwebs.
