Ed at glock speciffically said imported. I asked him to clarify.

Even still The G26 G4 I just purchased was test fired 2/26/13 so from test fire to my safe took about 50 days. Not 11 months.

I bought a G21C that was test fired on 7/11/12 a few weeks ago, so maybe not unheard of on their less popular models.

Even if its new it seems kinda high. I bought a G20SF last June here in the People's Republik for $550 I think. New. They are available online and in lots of stores. I wouldn't buy from the guy simply because he's an @$$ hat. You can probably save a few bucks and get an SF or Gen4 in the process.

I paid a similar amount for my Gen 3 G20SF here in CA (where we are not allowed Gen4's). They are rare but they also don't sell that well because most have no clue what a 10mm is, what its capable of and how easy they are to shoot well.

Just picked up my Glock G36 online. Quick shipping and better price than I could get on Buds or Gunbroker

I picked up a G22 for 350.00 and recently a HK usp 40. Both leo trades, nothing wrong with either just broken in. Both are accurate, the usp is more so than the G22. Gotta love the HK's. No brass to the face or FTF Top notch.

Just don't let the USP get dirty as it will turn into a random DAO. In my experience every 2-3 rounds. I'll stick with my Glocks that I've never had ANY malfunctions no matter how dirty.

I own both Glock and a HK USP in .40. Both have been very dirty, and never missed a beat.

The thing is gen 4's come with 3 magazines so it would stand to reason that the gen-4 would cost at least as much as the value of a magazine more. Don't you agree?

Couple Price Checks

Hey guys -

I'm visiting a gun show this coming weekend. I'm looking to buy a new Gen 4 G17 or G22.

I haven't been to a gun show since all the craziness started. For instance, yesterday I watched an online gun auction that happened in Charlotte, NC, but also allowed online pricing... People were paying $37/box for 9mm + $30/box for .40... .40 was a better deal!

My question is, what do you feel is a good price on a G17 / G22 at a gun show?

Thanks! -Chris

Yesterday, a local gunshop had them at $550, also had Beretta M9 or 92FS for $549.

Gen3 G17/G22 $500.
Gen 4 G17/G22 $530.
You are basically paying for the extra magazine that comes with the Gen4.

I am looking for a weapon that I can not only carry, but will be a good home defense weapon as well.

One would think that a 9mm would be a good choice in this situation. But I would hate to buy a 9mm, and then be wishing shortly thereafter that I would have purchased the 40Cal.

Basically, what I am looking for is: First gun, and last gun, all in one. What is the best "Bang, for your buck" if you can only have one?
Are you in the Georgia area if so shoot me a PM as to where you are. I do a lot of pistol marksmanship training along with close quarters marksmanship training and midrange marksmanship training company by carbine marksmanship close quarters and midrange transitioned drills and other shooting techniques.

Why not just buy a G17 Gen 4 for $540 shipped? I doubt you'll do much better than that at the gun show, and you could have your gun in two days ;-)

Wow, good find! I haven't come across that website yet..

I will definitely keep in mind. With ammos prices soaring out of control, I'm kind of leaning towards a .40 and then I can buy a conversion barrel down the road once the 9mm returns to normal.

Are you aware of the added costs that come with buying a gun online? Is it just the payment to the gun store its shipped to? Or are there more?

Thanks!

Well, if you live in Illinois, you can forget about it being a simple experience, unless you already have a FOID card, and a dealer who will do the transfer for you.

Be sure to check out all the legalities first...

Good luck with it!

You will need to have the gun shipped to an FFL (Federal Firearms License) dealer - typically your local gun store, but there are many home-based FFL's too. They will charge you a fee to transfer the gun to you, anywhere from $15-$50, or more even.

I looked on gunbroker.com for my local FFL's and found a great guy reasonably close by who only charged $20. He received the firearm in two days, and everything was perfect. Definitely a good way to go, and I highly doubt you'll find a better deal locally, even if you find a dealer with it in stock (especially once you add sales tax to the mix).
