.40S&W Reman Ammo

Anybody ever shot .40S&W REMANUFACTURED ammo called "Ultramax?" It was reloaded in Rapid City, SD. I bought a box of this stuff in 2009, and have never fired any of it. It's 165gr. FMJ. The label reads: "We have used reasonable care in the manufacture of this ammunition, but make no other warranty, expressed or implied."

All of it fits as it should in my G22's chamber. The brass is mixed: Rem, Win, Fed, etc. All the brass seems to be in very good condition, nice and clean, no defects that I can discern.

Any feedback on this brand of reman ammo is appreciated.

AK

I had some for my 223 and it was fine. I was just plinking and not doing serious accurate shooting though. Did it come in a red white and blue striped box?

Yes; red, white, and blue striped box. That's the one. Never used this brand of remanufactured stuff before. I paid $20 for it 4 years ago (50 rnds).

Some of mine was of the same vintage. It should be alright. I would not expect ultra high accuracy though given the components might not be really high quality. If memory serves me correct I actually bought it online at Cabalas. So it can't be too bad. (Back when you could easily buy bulk ammo)

Remanufactured ???

When will sales people quit trying to fool others with joke terminology that means absolutely nothing? Is there really such a thing as a salesman who actually believes anyone will think this is somehow different from reloaded ammo?

Reminds me of the "refurbished" electronics you can buy that are really just USED items with the dust wiped off. Does anyone really believe that some repairman actually opened the case of a used DVD player and replaced worn parts inside to make it "like new" again before putting it on the Wal Mart web site as refurbished?

I despise the use of meaningless words to sell items as something other than what they really are. It's not like I hate salespeople, but I do look down on sales executives who encourage their team to more or less lie.

They are a pretty well known brand and should be fully insured and licensed. If it were me I would shoot it and keep the brass to reload.

I bought some in 38 special. It was very smoky but it all fired.
