I'm reading "One Second After" by William Forstchen. It's about the US being attacked by an EMP and a community's fight to survive. It's a great book.

I recently finished Jupiter's Travels by Ted Simon. Fantastic read. Other than a Bible and my journal, no other books on the nightstand at the moment.

With all the talk of ebola in the news, I'm re-reading the Hot Zone. I believe the Robin Cook book and subsequent film Outbreak was based on this book.

'1356' by Bernard Cornwell. He also wrote 'Azincourt.' Both are historical novels, chiefly about the victory of English archers in France as seen through the experience of the character Thomas Hookton.

I think Cornwell is to medieval archery as Stephen Hunter is to pistols and gunplay, as (the late) Tom Clancy was to techno-weaponry.

Bernard Cornwell - Sharpe's Rifles, or one of them from the series. Long live the Baker rifle!
