Milt Sparks- Versa Max 2 COPY?

Howdy:

Northern CA fellow into leathers is offering a holster on Ebay that looks nearly the same as a Versa Max 2. Read several forum listings from owners who have purchased his holsters and responses have been very favorable. Check out current listing on Ebay 130167190952.

At this time he doesn't make holsters for Kahr products.

Tim just messaged me.

His holsters do have the "one way" snap that the big makers use, in stainless steel. Belt loops are replaceable.

His current turn around time is a week or so.....you can now order yours, as MINE is in the queue!

I'm intrigued by his design/turn around time and customer service skills!

And I AM a die hard Sparks/Alessi/Kramer guy.

I posted a thread in carry issues last week asking if anyone has sampled his work. I would love to hear an honest review when you get it.

I'll post on this thread when I receive mine.

Looks like Tim makes good stuff (as does NATE (!!) of Ugly Bald Guy Leather). And John at 5Shot Leather, etc. I've examples of each of their work.

I like to see the "little guys" making good stuff, and support 'em every time I can!

I also ordered one for my G30. I do like the quality although I have to say I have never owned a VMII so I can't compare. He shipped promptly and was all in all a good guy to deal with.

Here are some photos, note I am not a very good photographer.

Duck Out.

I don't like seeing the trigger guard exposed like that. Murphys law. Not the end of the world but you won't find top holster makers mentioned here such as Sparks or Alessi and many others leaving the trigger area with that kind of exposure. YMMV

I've got one for a Sig on order from TT. Not sure what to expect, but I'm sure I'll be pleased. Anyone else have one of these for a Glock?

I received one for my EMP Thursday. Haven't wore it alot so far as I usually carry my G26 in a VM2. It may not be as polished as the VM2, but it looks pretty darn good. Tim was a great guy to deal with and at about half the cost of a VM2 with delivery in about 2 weeks, I think it's a good value.

Wear it around & please let us know how it compares to the VM2 (comfort, concealability, etc). Thanks!

Yes.

I've been using it for 12 days now. The craftsmanship is wonderful, retention is excellent. Concealment is on par with the larger brand names, as this holster was designed the same. Tim utilizes a kydex mouth reinforcement, unlike the metal one uses by other mfg'ers.....seems to work fine, with easy reholstering.

I'll buy another soon for my G20/21, as I've always had issues with the "baby" Glocks kinda digging into my hip, with any IWB holster, so I don't imagine that same condition with the TT holster is any different! I'm MUCH more comfortable with the compact/full or huge Glock frames IWB......the little 'uns just seem to poke me in the hips.

The only thing I have any issue with is the use of one way snaps, although I haven't had one come un-snapped yet. Tim emailed me, as he actually wasn't aware what a "one way snap" was until he researched it. He's found a source for them, and will be using these in the future. He'll also send me a new pair of loops with 'em.....gratis.

Customer service is GREAT!

I won't ever rid myself of the Milt Sparks/Lou Alessi/John Ralston/NateUBG/Kramer products that I currently own, as they are all EXCELLENT manufacturers, and I've been nothing but satisfied with the customer service I've received by each.

Tim (TT Gunleather) just gives one another option! (He says he'll even have a website up one day, as I'm certain he'll need one.....)

For now, you'd hafta go to Fleabay.......http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN:IT&ih=003

Today, I received my holster that was ordered on 11/4 for a G19. I was impressed with the holster quality on first inspection and after wearing the holster for a few hours all I have to say is "DANG, I LIKE THIS HOLSTER". Very comfortable, conceals well and did I say "COMFORTABLE".

Definately a good bang for the buck.

Here's a pic of the back of the Baby Glock holster....sorry for the fuzzy's, bad lighting.

I am selling this one (cheap) if someone wants it, please PM me. Perfect shape, as I've only used it for two weeks. Nice tight retention.

Only reason I'm considering selling? Two hours ago picked up a VM2 horsehide/shark trim that's just a little more purty....both are equally functional!

Is the back of the MS VM2 the same or is it flat? Do you have a pic of one handy?

The main difference that I see is that the VM2 mouth reinforcement cover also extends up and includes the back of the sweat guard. The copy doesn't.
