THIS has been one of the saddest summers of my life!!

EVERY day that I have had the time to check my Facebook page, one of my friends has lost a parent this week.

Last night, we learned that the pastor who married my hubby and me passed away. He was very much in favor of our relationship when we started dating. His son introduced us, and was a groomsman in our wedding. His son, however, told my husband that HE was dating me and I was not available when he introduced us...which was NOT true!

Our former pastor was 84 years old when he passed.

Time passes by!

Hey Karen I'll have to agree with you. We all owe a death, it's sad when someone you know passes but I can usually find solice in fond memories and knowing that they lived a long happy life. Lately it seems at least in my circle that young ones are the ones dying. I wrote awhile back of an infant that died, just last week the teenage girl who lived down the street from my mother in law was killed in an auto accident, yesterday one of my coworkers lost his 3 yr old son. He had a virus and they took him to the doctor. He was given meds and sent home. Yesterday morning they couldn't wake him and called 911, he was pronounced dead 30 min later at the hospital. When I saw James (father) today I had no idea what to say to him......he and his wife need lots of prayers ......

I will be praying for the teenage girl and the little boy and their families. Both are so sad...gone way too soon!

It is so hard when it happens to children who haven't had a chance to live their lives yet. Did they find anymore about James' son as to what caused his death? I can't imagine how hard that is to deal with as a parent!

Thanks Karen, we haven't found out anything else. I know they are doing an autopsy to determine what caused his death. It's just a sad sad situation for James and his wife. All we know to do at work is to be supportive while he goes through this, not sure when he will return yet. I just can't imagine the pain of losing a child and hope and pray I never know it. My uncle said to me when my 1st cousin died "it's not supposed to be like this, your children are supposed to bury you, your not supposed to bury them" that was many years ago but it's stuck with me.

Wow.

I just got home after a not so bad first day of school...
had to check a few things on the computer...

There was a message from, I'd have to say he is my
BEST life long friend from all the way back to junior high school,
waiting for me.

He lost his mother yesterday after a long and brave battle with breast cancer. His family is very near and dear to me and my husband. His kids call me "Aunt Karen" and my hubby by "Uncle". We love them so much!

She was 85 years old. His father is also still living, not sure how old he is...but he's had health issues, too.

Please keep them in your prayers.

Feeling thankful tonight...

My older sister's husband has been in the emergency room all day, and has been admitted to the hospital. (He is quite a few years older than she...)

He had a heart attack about 4 years ago, and has been having chest pains for several days...

My sister and I work together at the same school...and about mid morning, I received a message that she was rushing to the Emergency room with my b-i-l.

By the time I got to speak to her, they were pretty sure he didn't have a heart attack, but are still waiting for blood work to come back. He will possibly have another catheterization procedure done in the morning pending the results.

They DID see a spot on the lung, which the ER doctor said was a lung infection (though he has NO symptoms of an infection...fever, cough etc...) and he/she ordered IV antibiotics. When her family doctor arrived this evening he was not happy about that in the absence of symptoms. (You treat the patient/symptoms, not the x-ray...to quote his doctor)

SO, we do not know what they actually saw on the lung.

So, still asking for prayers til we know the cause of the chest pain.

I contacted my little sister, who is in the process of driving her youngest daughter to New York City for her first year of college at NYU. We both agree that our b-i-l has not been looking well for a while. (My daughter said, "Mom, he's just old!") But he has always been young for his age. He still does not have any gray hair on his head. (doesn't have a LOT on the top of his head...but it is still very brown what he has.)

Thank you once again!

Thanks, Lone Wolfe!

I can NOT believe that since I last posted, I have something ELSE to add!

I think I need to go to sleep and pull the covers over my head for a long time....with my cell phone turned off and my computer unplugged!!!

I had also, in all the excitement this afternoon, received an e-mail from my mom telling me that her doctor was missing. I already knew that Monday, she had a doctor's appointment and when she got there, there was a note on the door....but I never got all the details. (I was too busy! )

Long too short. After I checked in here earlier, I went to check my e-mail, and I had a rather "fractured" (difficult to read) e-mail from my mom again....about her doctor. So I called her to understand what she was saying.

Her doctor and her husband, ends up, were missing when she went for her appointment Monday. It wasn't reported until Wednesday, by her son. Their bodies were finally found yesterday, by a maid in a hotel in Galveston, TX.

Mom is devastated. They "think" it is a drug overdose...but mom is so sure that her doctor would not do that.

I feel so bad for her.

On one hand, it made her finally see that bad things are happening all around her, and to people she knows. I am always telling her to be more careful and be aware of what is
going on around her. She is way too trusting.

She was happy I agreed that it "could be foul play" because
she doesn't want to believe anything else. But I don't want to think that it was foul play, either!

She is shocked.

BTW...this couple supposedly was celebrating their wedding anniversary. They are the same age as my hubby and I and they
have 3 children, (we have 2) around the same ages as our daughters. So, I think that my mom sees her like one of her daughters.

So sad!

Way beyond threes.....

Several weeks ago, I requested for my friends in the music thread to keep my husband in their thoughts and prayers.

A week ago yesterday, he had 12 pieces of tissue removed for a biopsy.

Please join me in prayer that the results will all be negative when we return to the doctor a week from Monday.

We are putting our full trust in God...and my husband has an amazing attitude. I KNOW God will be good to him!

Thank you!
