Nice weapon, and VERY nicely done photos!
If you're not a pro photog, you SHOULD be.

DJ Niner: Thank you, sir! Most of the credit, though, has to go the the fantastically capable camera that was employed to take the shots - a Panasonic Lumix FZ-35.
SIG P229: Your image (and the others in this thread) of the 17L supports my contention that the 17L is the best-proportioned gun in Glock's lineup.

Certainly!
The front sight is a HiViz model GL2006 fiber optic sight which, if memory serves, I purchased from MidwayUSA. The sight assembly is rather long and overhangs the G34's lightening hole (making it unsuitable for use with ported barrels that vent out the slide's cutout), but the long light pipe gathers a lot of light and is very bright even in low light conditions.
The rear sight is an Italian-made LPA model TPU17GL low-profile adjustable sight. I opted for this sight on my G34 as I have LPA rear sights on some of my other handguns and am very satisfied with their robust construction, ease of adjusment and appearance.
LPA sights are distributed in the US by Precision Sales International; I obtained mine from a seller on eBay.

Great Pictures of the Sights!!
My Front HI-VIZ also hangs out into the cut out though mine is an older style with the front edge of the light pipe exposed, This also allows it to have different sizes of pipes installed, I even have a BIG White dot for it too..
I prefer Red but haven't come across one yet, I have the small green in it now..

Here's a picture of the front of my G17L & it's HI-VIZ front sight that's much older than the one shown above, I need to get the smallest red light pipe & have the middle size in it now..
Anybody out there have an extra small .090" HI-VIZ RED or Orange light pipe??
BTW Today is my 45th Birthday & This is also my 2000th Post!!
Enjoy!!

What a great thread. The long slides DO NOT get enough attention.

I love my Gen 3 G24 with the Glock OEM .40 barrel and my LW 6" 357 sig barrel. Longslides are awesome.
Shooting 357 sig out of it to 100+ yards is so cool. Those 125 gr bullets get there in a hurry I have to get some 135 gr loads for .40 and try those to 100+ yards too!
I love my G24 so much that I use it for my HD weapon. For HD duty it wears the 357 sig barrel.

All this makes me want to get a 17L to be next to my G34
