Shamed to admit it, but here goes
I have a hi lift Jack. I also have a hydraulic lift floor jack. Both new. Sitting in the boxes for many years. Not a clue as to available accessories or how to use them. Of course, no one I know has the skills to use them.
I bit the bullet and signed up for a three hour course at the end of the month on how to repair a car tire and how to use the jacks. Bought accessories after after reviewing you tube videos, made additional copies of manuals and put them in zip lock bags.
After I get done with that class, I will cast around for a CPR review course. It has been about three years and the recommended procedures do change. Used CPR and Heimlich once each on people.

Bought two 42 round mags for AR and a 3 round extension tube for 870. Building up two 870's, one for home defense, one as a truck gun.
Talked my Dad into getting an AR, his first combat style long gun. Took him to supervise his build/purchase today. Since my Dad's place is my 1st bug out location, the better armed its occupants, the more prepared I become, so I'm including it in this post, and who doesn't like talking about evil black bang sticks?! He ended up with a decent setup:
Magpul MOE mid length forend, Magpul MIAD grip, Magpul CTR stock, 16" heavy barrel Rock River flat top upper, fixed front sight, Troy buis, VTAC padded 2 point sling, UTG light w/ remote pressure pad, JD Machine lower w/ 2 stage trigger. Out the door at $1600. He's still deciding between aimpoint or eotech.
Interestingly the dealer said that Rock River tested better then any of the top ten most popular gas impingement AR brands in a third party test battery looking at accuracy, reliability, torture tests, etc. Said Rock River blew away Colt, S&W and Noveske too. I found that very hard to believe, and chalked it up to a Rock River dealer being a salesman. Anyone else heard of such tests?

I am a CPR instructor (American Heart Association), yeah, there have been some changes. More emphasis on compressions. Good move to re-certify in CPR. I really ought to find a Red Cross First Aid class myself.

I should look at CPR courses again too, last time was about 8 years ago in Boy Scouts.
My wife has to take one every few years though since she works ER at a hospital

The requirement for breaths just seems to keep going down.
All the way up to 30 compression/2 breaths now, although compressions only is viable for some situations, IIRC

Tried a couple 9mm plated-bullet load recipes, and the results of that have me pretty much decided to stick with Berry's rather than Rainier or X-treme bullets. Better accuracy, in my gun at least; others may wok better in someone else's gun.

That is actually not a buttstock...
..the SIG SB15 is an BATFE approved "stabilizing brace" designed for an AR pistol.
http://www.sigsauer.com/SigStore/sb1...brace-552.aspx
The Form 1 for the SBR will not be approved till later this year...
..so this is the next best thing til then...IMO.

So technically that's a pistol; got it. Gotta love the logic of our lawmakers.

Worked out 3 times. Did dry fire practice for about 200 shots each time twice this week.

Picked up my almost-new M&P 9mm full-size; traded from a friend. Turned out to be not a truly identical model, as it has TFO sights that mine doesn't. I threw in three niw E-lander 30-round AR mags & a niw 20-round pmag as well; he's a good guy with only an 'ok' job, and spends a lot of money on foster kids his family takes in. (Right now, they have two little black children they've taken in - a 7-year-old and her 2-year old sister. A lot of people in rural arkansas wouldn't do that.)
On the M&P, I'll likely combine the slide from the new one (with the better sights) with the frame from my old one since the old one has the better (apex) trigger in it. Best of both worlds; make it my primary, with the more plain-jane relegated as spare or desk gun. The glocks are gradually becoming more-&-more relegated to backup-backup status...
And when putting stuff away, discovered three new GI 30-rounders that I didn't even know I had; new except for having magpul followers installed. So (thanks to karma...?) I still have as many 30's as I thought I did before giving him those.
