Spend the extra $50 to get the PSA midlength upper w/hammer forged barrel. You can do either lightweight or standard barrel profile for that price and IMO you will be much happier in the long run. $50 well spent.

OK, I did it. On my way to my first AR build. I ordered the mid-length light profile upper, LPK, and rear sight.

One question - is there anything special needed for a lefty shooter? Thanks

No, the brass deflector will take care of that for you.
