I just realized....
that I need a week off. I just finished my last DL workout before I attempt a new 1 rm. It was supposed to be a taper, but I had a hard time with the last set... 295x6 360x4 405x4. Last week i did 295x6 360x4 395x4 430x4 and 405x4. Today's 405x4 felt a lot heavier than last week's. I have all the other tell tale signs including a cold.
Maybe my erector cramps were some sort of symptom too.
So, I'm taking a week off of the weights and having 4 or 5 days of light cardio. Next Sat I'll pull a PR.
Thanks for reading,
Jack

Sometimes you need to rest in order to tackle that next challenge. Rock on.

A little break can lead to a lot of progress.
Sounds like a smart move.

I'm just finishing up a week off (per doc's orders). I've still dropped a couple pounds. Friggin voodoo doll is still getting worked though.
My plan was to work out here and walk the neighborhood, but it's been chilly and I wanted some rest. I'm going to start going to the gym probably tomorrow and just being really careful hygiene-wise.

CJ- Are you pulling once weekly, or more often?
What about accessory stuff, like RDL's and goodmornings? Same day or on different day?

Completely agree Jack taking time off like a week does a body good especially if you are coming down with a cold. It is surprising that you can actually gain strength by taking a week off.

Its also surprising that you can GAIN strength with a cold.
It doesn't work for everyone, and I don't mean crank out a routine when you have the flu.
But I for one have been stronger in the past when I am a little sick.
