The khakis must be resurrected as the Class A and B uniforms. The summer Class A uniform would include a khaki jacket and a khaki overseas or saucer cap. The winter Class A uniform would consist of khakis with an olive drab jacket, and olive drab overseas and saucer caps. The winter uniform would resemble the old "Pinks and Greens" from World War II. The winter Class B uniform would consist of khakis with an olive drab "Ike Jacket" or for aviators, an A-2 brown leather jacket.

Honestly I loved the way to greens looked, the new Army Service Uniform or what ever they are calling it is ugly as sin. The Khaki would look to much like the Marines khaki and would look about as bad as the new blues with jump boots

I agree - you could make the Khakis look sharp - I never liked the mint green shirts.
The new blue uniforms will really stink..........

Well, when the issue of the new Army Blue Service Uniform was brought up to the Army Chief of Staff last week at a forum of recently returned Iraq vets---virtually all of whom hated the new ASU, the Chief basically told them to shut up and color and they got the same answer when they expressed displeasure with the beret so I guess the Active Duty Crowd is stuck with the thing just like we AF guys got stuck in the late 80s with the ceremonial blues and whites because the AF Chief of Staff's wife thought we needed a new uniform for Washington social events.
