Best Friend laid to rest
I buried my best friend yesterday. He would have been 13 years old next month. Making "that" decision , and the final trip to the Vet was the hardest I have come by. He was a mini-schnauzer who went into liver and kidney failure. He had lost his sight 4 months ago and slowly going down from there. It really hurts.

Oh man, so sorry to hear that.
You and he had 13 great years together that you'll never forget. Memories will help and hurt at the same time. Best wishes to you through your ordeal. Post anytime you need to let it out.

Rainbow Bridge
Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I'm so very sorry. It is terrible to be in that position as many of us know all too well.

Sorry to hear of your loss. My wife and I have had to make the same decision several times. It never gets any easier.

I'm so sorry for your terrible loss.
he certainly looks like a cute little dog!
As terribly hard making 'the decision' was, the indications were clear; and that is not always the case.
It is a terrible fact that we are destined to outlive our furry friends, who add so much to our lives.
He's at the Rainbow Bridge now, waiting for you.
Cherish your happy memories of him; all the good times you had together.
I hope when the time is right, you can adopt another dog. Please consider a shelter dog; there are so many who need homes there.

I am so sorry for you. I have had to do that and it's the hardest thing you can do. I am still suprised that one finally accepts it after a while. At first I thought I would never get over it.
Have faith.
