Non-resident change to resident CCW?

I'm thinking of moving to FL in the next 12 months. As I currently have a GA CCW, would I save any time by applying now for a non-resident FL CCW and then apply for the regular resident permit when the move is finalized. I would imagine that once I apply for FL ID (drivers license etc.) my GA status is automatically revoked. I really don't want to be without a permit and don't want to violate the laws of either state. So I guess what I really want to know is if there is an automatic change of non-resident to resident permit when FL ID is applied for ie. drivers license, mail, social security etc.

There is not an automatic change of anything where CWFLs are concerned.

It's the same license, there is no 'non-resident' license. Apply for it now, it's taking right at 90 days from receipt of application. When you move to Florida, call DOACS and request that they send you a new one with your new address on it...$15.
