Some of this information was based on testing, and a report, by two experts in the field of terminal ballistics. These experts - Evan Snow, the designer of the Hydra-Shok and Edwin Sanow, a Law Enforcement Officer and consultant to Federal Ammunition. .
Allow me to correct your erroneous information:
Tom Burzynski designed the Hydra Shock (among others)
115 gr. & 124 gr.+P+ 9mm are still rated the best ! http://www.hipowersandhandguns.com/9..._selection.htm
The FBI may allow some of their women officers to choose the slower velocity, lighter recoiling 147 gr. bullets.
But, they have less velocity & stopping power.
At the bottom of this link, is the ranking of best 9mm's.
This mirrors most studies & research to date.
With my life on the line, I want the best !
haha J.P dont start that crap. 9mm is just fine.
its been around a very long time. its not gone...and still one of if not THE primary cartridge of Auto-pistols.
....id like to see some .25 +p+ JHP..hahaha
In my weapons now is DRT....dead right there....and I have a box or so of most of the above mentioned bullets. Whatever you have in there if and when you need it is what you will use. My mags are filled with a mixture of SD bullets. My range ammo is loaded at the range with my uplula. Can't have too many choices nor too many loaded mags.

Each gun reacts differently. Try several and pick the one that
a) shoots best in your gun
b) shoots best for you and
c) can be found in the store <g>
A high power round, might not let you recover for a second shot as quickly as a lesser powered round. Hits on target is what counts (otherwise known as gun control).
I think us gun fanatics over-analyze this stuff way too much. Any bullet will work as long as it fires out of the gun. FMJ, JHP, etc. You hit the bad guy in the chest with either 9mm bullet listed above and I very seriously doubt he will be able to tell the difference. Personally, I use Winchester Ranger 147 gr. LE becasue they were given to me from a friend, but would feel comfortable carrying any of the ones menioned above as well as any FMJ name brand.
I went to the range this morning and the Corbon DPX functioned nicely out of my G19 and my G26....I have to say the Ranger 127 +P+ were the least accurate...then the Ranger 124+P bonded, then the Corbon DPX and finally the Speer Lawman 124 +P were OUTRAGEOUSLY accurate out of my G26...SCARY accurate!
...the kind that hit BG's vitals/central nervous system. Honestly, all the ballistics tests available online can bog you down a bit and make choosing that much more difficult. In one test a round you're favoring might not perform well and in another test it's top dog.
I think if you choose a reputable ammunition producer and find a round that you're comfortable firing (IE-you can handle the recoil and it's accurate)that feeds well in your pistol then I guess that's the round for you. FWIW, I have a G19 and I settled on Remington Golden Sabers, 147 gr. That slower, heavier round won me over after reviewing some ballistics tests, but I don't want to start another slow/heavy vs. quick/light argument.
It's total and complete bullcrap. So bullcrap it was stated by somebody who was being sarcastic or looking for an argument and didn't care that everybody knew that was what he was doing. (or she)
Maybe you should talk to the FBI. They currently issue a 147gr JHP from Winchester to agents who choose 9mm. As do many other very large agencies.
I thought they were using the 124 +P? Both are listed here, but it does not say which weight they use, I don't remember where I read or heard that they are using the 124 +P, and I very well could be wrong. I am using the 124 +P PDX1 and I like it a lot. I also use the Cor-Bon 115 gr +P which I like a lot as well. http://www.winchester.com/products/n...x?productid=70

Currently my 26 and 19 are loaded with 124 +P Speer GDHP and have been for years (well, the G26 has the 19 is pretty new). My RA9B (Ranger 147 bonded) just arrived yesterday. I also have Gold Dots and HST in 147.
I originally wanted to go with the Ranger, years ago, but Gold Dots were less expensive and more readily available. And more popular.
The RA9B may find it's way into at least one of my guns, though.

Have been firing my new G19 at the range the past few weeks and now getting comfortable with it so time to consider what defense ammo I want to carry. Am thinking about either the Speer Gold Dot in 124 gr. +P JHP or Winchester Ranger 127 gr. +P+ JHP. Anyone see any issues with the Glock running either of these from experience?
The best round??.....You might want to concider something with a headstamp that looks like this:

I have read the research and the Corbons are well regarded but one article stated that in some guns they wouldn't bring the slide all the way back - not sure what that was all about?? Thanks for the comments.
