I told my good friend, our music teacher where I teach, about this thread today during lunch...
Told her about Love is Blue, what it meant in my youth, and that I found it on YOUTUBE and posted it here last night....
She smiled one of her deep in thought smiles and said "WOW!!! What a beautiful song that was!" We were born on the exact same day....EXACT!!! It was before our time but we both love it!
Another song, a bit before our time that I just happened to think of this evening.....
Mason Williams....

Edited to add:
Eric Clapton's Version, not to shabby either....

I agree...time has a way of softening the rough memories.
The worst for me was in February, I was in a bad car accident. Unfortunately, I still suffer from the injuries in the accident. With time, more problems surface...and it took a while for doctors to make the connection to the accident.
But, I'm tough! I don't let it get me down! It's just frustrating at times....because I have NO control over what happened in a split second!
But, I also have some AWESOME memories from 1976!!!!
Twas a very good year!!!

Other than the accident....which after the initial time in the hospital, and recovery, I did okay, except for bad headaches. Those got worse as time passed, and more frequent. Eventually other problems surfaced as well, and finally doctor's realized I had injured my cervical spine in the accident.
Early on, the accident scared me more than anything else at first. I had led a charmed life till then, where everything in my life was amazing. Nothing ever went wrong...pretty much!
76 brought much happiness, and a little sadness into my life. Everything worked out okay in the end.
I made a commitment to my husband (boyfriend at the time) at the beginning of 1976, and that has turned out pretty good. We'll be married 32 years in April. But we dated for 5 years before we actually got married in 1979. He left for Germany after he knew I was okay from the accident. That was very hard on him! (Army) He would spend 3 years there!

Glad everything worked out. Life overall has been good to me, I sometimes chose the hard path but I've learned from it. Sometimes life can deal you some bad cards, you just have to make the best hand you can.
