I am looking for information on a good home design software. Is there any that you can recommend.

I have never designed a home, but I played with 3D Home Architect and kinda liked it.

i did drafting and design for a couple years. AutoCAD Architecture software is the best around but it's not for beginners.

Chief Architect. I use it professionally. It's not anywhere near affordable, but it's the best IMO.
