Secure DNS ?

I am always looking for the best secure method for web browsing. I have found a site that recommends OpenDNS service to block unwanted sites. I was wondering if anyone here has any opinions/experiences good or bad for this service? Is it good or a waste of time?

I run squid on a linix box. That will let you ban sites at will. You can even set levels of access, for example, facebook.com will work for you, but not the kiddies.

I also run bind for a DNS resolver, simply because my provider's DNS is slow.

This and a decent iptables firewall and you're good to go.

OpenDNS works fine. I recommend you use it.

I use a fortigate appliance that have great web filtering capabilities. Maybe not cheap but does work and works great.

OpenDNS is good. You can setup short cuts like "GT" to go to GlockTalk.com.

With squid, you can setup neat things, like flipping all the images on webpages... It's nice to leave wifi open, but route all outgoing traffic through squid, just flipping everything. Neighbors will look at you funny.
