Help date a 17L.....
Picked up an import 17L from a LEO friend of mine for $400 (Yes!). Would appreciate some help dating its birth. Couple of confusing features. Matching serial numbers (frame plate is shiny one). Serial nmber is CXL847, then on the barrel next to the SN is the little eagle, NPv EDD then a little pentagon shaped stamp. What I find a little confusing is the frame has the 3rd gen finger grooves/light rail but is only a 2 pin frame! It also has the eagle/NPv stamped into the frame just above the leading edge of the trigger guard. I'm sure there is no real reason for my confusion. Thanks for your replies.

Off the top of my head, I would say 1998-1999.

January of 1999.
EDD is a date code....
Where did the guy get it? You called it "an import".....what does that mean?

You're right, there is no real reason for confusion.....
Except for the G26, all 9mm Glocks had only two pins (including a LOT of gen three's), but a few years ago Glock decided to simply make all frames with three pins instead of making separate frames just for 9mm's....a measure to simplify the manufacturing process.

Thanks for the replies! It has a C.A.I. import stamp on the left side of the slide, hence the "import" remark.

Century Arms International....apparently imported as 'surplus' from somewhere.
